How to choose the best salt chlorinator

What is salt chlorination?

Salt chlorination is a water disinfecting system ideal for pools, either small or big. The water treatment is carried out through the generation of natural chlorine using common salt.

The maintenance of swimming pool water is a fundamental aspect that must be carried out, both for private and public swimming pools (community, municipal, etc.), to ensure that the water is disinfected and in perfect condition, and to ensure an adequate bathing experience for all users.

In BSPool we have a wide range of salt chlorinators that are perfect for private and public pools. Each of our chlorinators is designed for a specific type of pool. Do you know how to choose the best one for your pool?

Choose according to the volume of water to treat

Depending on the volume of water that your pool has, we will choose one chlorinator or another. Also, it is important to have into account the cubic meters that the installation has; from this, it will be necessary to choose an equipment that can produce adequate chlorine production per hour of salinization. In this regard, if you would like to learn more about the importance of maintaining balance in your pool, I recommend you read our previous post “Does your pool have the right amount of salt?” This article provides valuable details on how to maintain an optimal salinity level to ensure efficient chlorinator operation and a safe and enjoyable swimming experience.

It is advisable to always choose an equipment whose chlorine generation capacity is higher than the necessary; in this way, if there is a higher number of bathers than usual, or if an unusual heat wave occurs, the chlorinator could be prepared to meet these specific needs.

Choose chlorinators with reading indication and pH regulation

pH is a measure of the acidity or basicity of the water that must be controlled and always adjusted independently of the size of the pool or the type of chlorinator that you may have installed. Through its adjustment we can guarantee a perfect balance in the water so that it is of quality and bathers can enjoy it without worries.

As we have stated in previous blog entries, the pH levels should always be between 7,2 and 7,8 and therefore we can keep the water in good conditions.

All our PRO range chlorinators have a reading indicator for the pH levels in the water. They also include the Auto Pro Kit (pH), with which the regulation of pH can be automated through a probe and a dosing pump.

Facilitate the work with chlorinators with automatic chlorine regulators

Another important factor that must be considered when choosing a salt chlorinator and facilitating the pool water maintenance is the acquisition of an equipment with the capacity of automatically regulating the levels of chlorine in the water.

Our PRO chlorinators have a Redox reading indicator, which will help start the salinization process to purify the pool water by adjusting the free chlorine levels.

It is important to consider that, when choosing the ideal chlorinator for your pool, this Redox indicator is always used alongside the pH regulator as it will assess the pH levels of the water for its correct operation.
